Music Ministry

Music Ministry is an integral part of CTK parish. All of the facets of CTK music ministry are designed to lead and support the sung prayer of the community. The Ministry of Music serves to nourish, strengthen and express the commitment and community of faith in Jesus Christ. If you are interested in joining any of the Music Ministries, please contact:
Jean Grizard, Director of CTK Music Ministries,
266-1288, email: jgrizard@dor.org

9:30 Music Ministry -

11:30 Music Ministry - comprised of singers and organ accompaniment - leads and supports the sung prayer of the 11:30 am CTK Mass on Sunday mornings from Sept. - June. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:15 pm in the church music ministry area.

Youth/Children Music Ministry - For young people interested in serving as music ministers on an occasional basis at CTK parish from September - May. This ministry offers an opportunity for young people to get involved in music ministry on a less rigorous schedule. They often lead and support the sung prayer of various Liturgies including Religious Education and Sacramental Liturgies throughout the year.

Cantors - lead and support the sung prayer at masses during the summer and the Saturday evening vigil. Training and support is provided, however, auditions are required for those wishing to participate in this ministry.

Resurrection Choir - The Resurrection Music Ministry of CTK parish participates in funeral liturgies and supports the sung prayer of the community. Resurrection choir rehearsals are held on the first Monday of the month at 10:30 - 11:30 am in the church Music Ministry area from October - May. All are welcome to join this important ministry that offers consolation and support to those gathered for funeral liturgies at CTK.

Wedding Music Planning Meeting - The wedding planning meeting takes place on Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 7pm in the church music ministry area. Couples are provided with the Diocesan Wedding Music Guidelines, and outline of the wedding liturgy, and music suggestions to help you plan your Wedding Liturgy. You will have the opportunity to listen to various music selections, both instrumental and vocal, to assist you in your decision process, as well as look at various options available to you. The meeting is generally an hour and 15 minutes in duration. We invite couples to RSVP approximately one week in advance to enable us to provide enough resource materials for those attending.
